Attorney Scott L. Thaler was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2010. The scope of Mr. Thaler’s civil practice includes personal injury and wrongful death claims, automobile, products liability, and medical malpractice.
In January 2016, Mr. Thaler began assisting Howard S. Grossman in Defense Base Act claims. Mr. Thaler co-authored a chapter entitled Death Benefits Under the Longshore & Harbor Worker’s Act in The Longshore Textbook, Howard S. Grossman & Scott L. Thaler, The Longshore Textbook, 111-121 (Steven Birnbaum et al. eds., 7th ed. 2017). Prior to joining Mr. Grossman’s office, Mr. Thaler worked as a prosecutor in the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office. Mr. Thaler handled a wide variety of cases ranging from simple misdemeanors to first degree murder cases. Mr. Thaler gained invaluable litigation skills as he tried in excess of forty cases to jury verdict, argued numerous motions, and handled several appellate issues. Mr. Thaler was selected by the governor of Florida to handle several executive assignments in other counties in Florida. Additionally, Mr. Thaler was selected by the State Attorney to handle parole proceedings in Tallahassee, Florida, for inmates seeking parole.
